Development at Moore River South - 01.07.2009

On the 9th of June 2009, Planning Minister John Day announced that the Liberal Government would recognise the "urban development" of the land south of the Moore River.  This will allow the development of approximately 2000 dwellings on the land, with a  population of approxiately 6000 people.

The Friends of Moore River Estuary group once again plan on opposing the development and at their last meeting the Guilderton Community Association passed a motion to fully support this position.  Therefore the Guilderton Community Association is opposed to any urban development on the land south of the Moore River.

For the latest news concerning the development and the efforts being made to stop it, refer to the Friends of Moore River Estuary at www.savemooreriver.org.
