FOMRE and GCA meet with Gingin Shire CEO - 26.03.2010
On 26th March 2010, FOMRE Convenor John Prince, and GCA President, Geoff Gilbey, met with Gingin Shire acting CEO, Mr David Burt, to share thoughts and issues relating to the Moore River.
A very worthwhile discussion ensued, with some key points as follows:
- The shire is currently unaware of the reason for the delay in submission of the Outline Development Plan. Minister Day previously stated in parliament that it would be submitted early 2010.
- General discussion about the issue of a bridge, whether footbridge or road bridge across the river. The Developer has not made their intentions clear at this stage.
- General discussion about buffers, exclusion zones and reserve areas. The Premier's statement on radio was raised and discussed.
FOMRE and GCA congratulate Mr Burt on this appointment and look forward to a meaningful and cooperative relationship as we endeavour to advance the interests and benefits of the Gingin Shire
